DR. WELKER

Dr. Michael Welker is a native of Pennsylvania and grew up in Altoona, a small city east of Pittsburgh. He graduated with honors from Juniata College in 1990 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology while playing both varsity tennis and basketball.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Penn State University in 1994 and subsequently moved to Dayton to get his orthopedic training. He completed this at Wright State University in 1999. Following this Dr. Welker joined Far Oaks Orthopedists where he has practiced since. With his wife and three children, he maintains a very active lifestyle.
He is a member of the Dayton Orthopedic Society, the Ohio Orthopedic Society and is an active fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Welker is board certified and maintains a great interest in primary and revision joint replacement, trauma (fracture care) and sports medicine (arthroscopy).
He is on active staff at Miami Valley Hospital, Kettering Medical Center, Sycamore Hospital and Far Hill Surgery Center.
