WHAT ARE NUTRITION SERVICES?
Good nutrition is important to staying well. All patients are screened for nutrition risk during admission to prioritize their needs. Nutrition Services are ordered by the orthopedist and enables patients to be provided with systematic nutrition management and continue with their nutritional plan after discharge or between hospitalizations. A dietitian’s goal is to make recovery shorter and more pleasant and provide proper nutrition to improve quality of life.
WHAT ARE NUTRITION SERVICES LIKE?
After diet analysis and assessment, a dietitian will present an effective eating plans which meets unique and individualized needs for disease-specific nutritional issues, treatment complications or recovery from surgery. The success of your healing from illness or surgery depends a lot on what you do when you come home. Follow your diet plan, take your medications, and exercise. If you are not meeting your nutritional goals, it is important to sit down with your dietitian and discuss changes to your program.
